In 2014, individuals received food, water, and medical supplies to survive hurricanes, tornadoes, chemical spills, floods, pandemics, and refugee migrations.
Elk River Chemical Spill: Provided information on availability of bottled water to emergency management for planning purposes. Facilitated transportation (donated by UPS Foundation) of bottled water (donated by Afya Foundation) to West Virginia Red Cross.
Arkansas Tornadoes: Facilitated donation to Adventist Community Services of 8 pallet jacks from Gammon Equipment Company, 2000 boxes from International Paper, 50 gaylord boxes from MG Logistics, and loan of a forklift from National Lift of Arkansas
Hurricane Odile: facilitated donation of energy bars and transportation to airport for US citizens awaiting evacuation in Cabo San Lucas
Detroit Floods – facilitated donation of gloves for clean-up
Unaccompanied minors – Identified warehouse space in McAllen,TX; arranged transportation (donated by UPS Foundation) of hygiene kits from Clean the World to Catholic Charities
Ebola response: Coordinated US based ground transportation and temporary warehousing for medical supplies collected by multiple NGOs and delivered to Liberia and Sierra Leone via the Airlink air bridge.
Preparedness: Arranged for a loaned forklift from Wisconsin Lift Truck to Adventist Community Services to support their project to build 3000 flood clean up kits.
