ALAN will be at this year’s CSCMP Annual Global Conference in San Antonio, September 21 – 24. Please join us for one or more of our events throughout the conference.
Our annual open meeting is on Sunday, September 21st at 4 PM (just prior to the opening reception). Come get an update on the supplies and services donated via ALAN in 2014, and weigh in on the 2015 plans for each of our program areas. We’ll recognize businesses whose actions have made a difference for disaster survivors this year and introduce you to our newest volunteers. The meeting will be in room 212B at the Henry B. Our session “When Disaster Strikes –Supply Chain Disaster Simulation” takes place Tuesday, September 23rd at 10 a.m. in room 007B, River Level of the convention center. This hands-on, game-based session allows attendees to experience supply chain disruption, information scarcity, and agency interface issues that occur in disasters. Using mobile devices, the simulation demonstrates in real time how allocation decisions impact businesses and the communities in which they operate. The session closes with best practices for ensuring products reach market – and survivors – following a disaster. Click here to add this session to your calendar.
