Ongoing Disaster Response Activities

Our team took a much needed rest day this weekend, but hit the ground running bright and early Monday morning. We resumed our business and non-profit supply chain coordination calls, as well as assisting organizations seeking transportation to disaster areas. A few highlights from the day:

  • The business supply chain call today focused on stability of power and timelines for restoration for Puerto Ric. The governor of PR has established timelines for power generation, transmission, and distribution. These goals are: by 10/31 25%, by 11/15 75%, by 12/15 95% Transmission goals are less optimistic, with an 1/2018 goal for restoration. The priorities, timelines, and status are available at http://status.pr
  • Today’s non-profit supply chain call focused on identifying a comprehensive list of resource needs for those working in disaster areas along with a plan for scheduling delivery of those items on a consistent basis. Non-profit needs are being updated to our logistics needs map.
  • There is a lot of cargo staged around the continental US that ALAN and our partners are being asked to move. We continue working with our non-profit partners to identify their priorities for moving these items. If your business is interested in offering your services to help support those moves, please let us know at http://alanaid.org/how-to-help/offerinkind/

We hope your week is off to a great start!
