Start of Summer Marked by Natural Disasters
Storm damage in Texas and Wyoming, flooding in Florida, and wildfires out of control in Colorado and New Mexico. Preparing to respond to and recover from emergencies has never been more important. If you haven't already done so, now is the time to create or update your personal and business emergency response plans. This month, we share some of our favorite resources. Look for more on our website.

ALAN Joins Business Emergency Management Mentorship Program
The recently created Big Business – Small Business Emergency Management Mentorship Program is designed to strengthen small business disaster preparedness by engaging willing and able big businesses as mentors. ALAN is proud to be the first association registered as a mentor. If your small business needs help creating a preparedness program or if you are a big business willing to share your expertise, sign up today to help make our communities and nation more resilient.

Disaster Response and Sustainable Supply Chains
The International Warehouse Logistics Association and the Sustainable Supply Chain Foundation have teamed up to create the Sustainable Logistics Initiative (SLI). This program enables third-party logistics providers to prove that their facilities' environmental efforts are helping make the supply chain more sustainable. The SLI program provides clear metrics for IWLA-member warehouses to assess the effectiveness of their environmental performance. Participation with ALAN counts towards the Social Responsibility Metric for SLI. > Learn more
