2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season Relief Efforts

Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region as a massive Category 4 hurricane, unleashing widespread destruction across the southeastern United States. The storm has left communities in Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, and Tennessee grappling with unprecedented flooding, extensive wind damage, and severely affected infrastructure. For many, the road to recovery will be long, and some areas may never fully return to their pre-Helene state.

Compounding this catastrophe, Hurricane Milton made landfall as a powerful Category 3 hurricane, rivaling Helene in severity and destruction, before moving across central Florida. Amidst this devastation, ALAN (American Logistics Aid Network) has mobilized to fill critical supply chain and logistics gaps and ensure that relief reaches those in need.

ALAN's Commitment to Hurricane Relief Efforts

As a leading organization dedicated to disaster relief through logistics, ALAN is committed to working with nonprofits, private-sector partners and government agencies to support communities affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Here’s how we’re making a difference:

  • Pro-Bono Logistics Services: We coordinate pro-bono logistics services on behalf of our nonprofit and business partners, maximizing efficiency in delivering critical supplies to affected areas.
  • Critical Infrastructure Support: We are arranging transportation of solar panels, communications equipment, and refrigerated storage for communities who have lost their infrastructure to flooding.
  • Gray Skies Logistics Coordination Calls: ALAN is hosting calls for responding nonprofits to ensure they are equipped with the resources and support they need.
  • Situation Reports & Critical Information Sharing: ALAN equips public and private sector partners with essential information, keeping them informed of the logistics landscape and enabling them to make meaningful contributions to relief efforts.

Our Long-Term Commitment

The 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season has caused tremendous destruction and will require a prolonged response. ALAN will remain engaged long after the media leaves, helping to rebuild supply chains and communities for the future.
