[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Since last year’s sale of Necco has left us without traditional conversation hearts this year, we’ve devised our own way to show how much we appreciate you, our loyal supporters.

Welcome to ALANtine’s Day!

While we might not have the chalky- flavored candies to share, we’re taking a clue from their messaging strategy to let you know how  we think you are. So read on to find out why we’re so glad you’re part of our ongoing conversation.

When the right people work together, extraordinary things can happen.  By teaming up with ALAN to provide transportation, warehousing, equipment and expertise, you’ve helped us deliver a huge amount of comfort and hope all across the globe.  Because of you, survivors of Hurricane Michael have had their homes repaired, children in Puerto Rico have received books to read while their communities are rebuilt after Hurricane Maria, and first responders have received the inflatable boats they needed to execute swift water rescues after Hurricane Florence.

Sharing information and communicating effectively during a disaster can be a challenge. Many thanks to the hundreds of you who participated in our daily conference calls, provided information about the status of your operations, or asked questions about issues that had potential to affect your supply chains. That kind of information leads to faster response and recovery – and better outcomes for disaster survivors everywhere.

Did you know that ALAN works with animal care non-profit organizations?  As Hurricane Florence was wreaking havoc on North Carolina, ALAN partner warehouses opened their doors to store supplies for animals rescued from the floodwaters.  (And that’s just one of the many positive “tails” we could share with you.)

Okay, okay, please forgive us for using this one to talk about our response to the California wildfires. But the fact is, this year you were there to help us support many fire-impacted communities in need. That meant trucking everything from food to equipment across the Golden State. Support is still needed for trucking – can you help?

ALAN has only been around since 2005, but we hope to keep delivering help and hope for a very long time to come. Your financial contributions enable us to do just that, so thank you to all who give to support our work.

What more can we say? ALAN supporters are the best. If you’d like to commemorate our first ALANtine’s Day with a gift, browse on over to our website for more information.

Finally, here’s a friendly piece of advice from all of us to you:   Don’t forget to remember your significant other this February 14.  (And speaking from experience, try to say it with flowers, candy or a card, not a Shopvac – true story – but I still love you honey!).  It will guarantee a much safer and happy holiday for all.

On behalf of all of us at ALAN, thank you for all you do to help us spread love, hope and comfort every day of the year.  We truly do you, and we appreciate you more than words – or conversation hearts – can say.

Kathy
